Mission

San Diego Deaf Mental Health Services provides comprehensive and culturally affirmative mental health and social work services to all deaf and hard of hearing individuals and their family members, regardless of their social or economic condition, living in the County of San Diego, CA.

Goals and Objectives:
SDDMHS provides an extensive array of mental health services, which will include but not be limited to the following: individual, conjoint, family and group therapy for deaf and hard of hearing persons and their family members.

Education and advocacy are critical components of our agency's philosophy in terms of enabling deaf people to become more knowledgeable about mental health issues and to assume leadership positions in the community in order to provide culturally affirmative, direct mental health services. Training and supervision programs for graduate students of social work and psychology interns will focus on the recruitment of deaf and American Sign Language proficient professionals who are interested in serving the Deaf community.
