![]() Internship Program San Diego Deaf Mental Health Services offers a comprehensive internship/field placement experience for students enrolled in university level social work, school counseling, vocational rehabilitation and mental health counseling programs throughout the country. Click here to download our flyer. Our interdisciplinary staff provides students feedback and guidance through their wide range of clinical and community experience. As interns, students are exposed to a variety of theoretical and practice based approaches in mental health assessment, intervention, prevention, education and community outreach. Each students experience is individually designed to meet their educational needs and university requirements. These are some of the experiences that student interns have had when choosing SDDMHS as their field placement. Individual mental health counseling. Case management – Independent Living Skills. In-school counseling with children of all ages. Domestic Violence counseling and case management. We will then set up an in-person interview in our office or via VP. 3. We accept interns for any length of time depending on your school requirements. 4. Only two interns will be accepted at any one time. 5. All applicants will be required to complete a background check and adhere to all SDDMHS policies and procedures.
